Concussion Management

Tri-State Rehab Services offers a Concussion Management Program to return athletes to optimum health.

Throughout the United States, it is estimated that more than two million concussions occur each year. Concussions are most often caused by a sudden direct blow or bump to the head. Tri-State Rehab’s comprehensive Concussion Management Program offers specially trained clinicians who provide individualized concussion evaluations and rehab programs.

It’s important for athletes to be evaluated by a trained medical professional if a concussion is suspected.  Athletic trainers and team physicians are trained to conduct a field concussion test.

Signs and Symptoms:

The following are common symptoms of concussion:

Physical therapy has been shown to help athletes recover from a concussion. Tri-State Rehab’s program is a four-phase treatment plan to address musculoskeletal pain, instability/weakness, vestibular or balance issues, as well as difficulty with vision.  The team uses the latest technologies and techniques in concussion management.

Our goal is to establish a supervised plan that includes exercises to increase physical and mental activity. Our team works closely with the athlete, referring physician, parents, and coaches to make sure the athlete is ready to return to play without fear of long-term effects.
