Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy, or massage cupping, is a treatment that many athletes seek out for injury rehabilitation.

Like most other forms of injury rehabilitation, cupping is all about increasing blood flow to an affected area, relaxing muscles and accelerating the recovery process. This method uses small plastic cups and a suction process for treatment.

  • Loosen tight muscles and adhesions
  • Increase blood flow
  • Reduce inflammation

The most common complaints treated with cupping therapy are the neck, back, shoulder and joint pain, chronic muscle imbalances or muscle spasm, and plantar fasciitis.

Other conditions treated with cupping therapy include:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Scarring
  • Arthritis
  • Chronic neck tightness
